For over 25 years, Carla has been active in serving families and individuals dealing with Alzheimer’s and other dementias.

Her career began as a volunteer with the Best Friends program after her father was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. In addition to starting a business called Memory Care Concierge, Carla continues to serve this population as a volunteer, leading support groups for the Alzheimer’s Association, as well as fundraising and helping develop other services providers in the field. She freely gives her time in counseling, coaching and guiding families to help them deal with life and family changes brought on by the disease.

Carla has received 2 awards

2013 Professional Caregiver of the Year from the Alzheimer’s Association- awarded by her peers

2023 Dedicated Hero for the Lexington Unsung Heros Ball- Leadership Lexington

She also is on the training committee of Dementia Friendly Lexington.

She is a community educator for the Alzheimer’s Association as well as a support group leader.

Carla also is a certified training for Second Wind Dreams Virtual Dementia Tour.

She serves on the workforce development committee for the Kentucky BOLD grant.

In her free time she enjoys having guests in her airbnb, gardening and being in nature.
